Can I cancel my ad?
You may changed the status of your ad by logging into the account manager section of our site, however that listing and it’s history will stay under your account. By changing the status of the listing you can remove your listing from showing on our site to viewers. So if you post your ad and 2 hours later you have an offer, you can change the status to conditionally sold, and the ad will show this to viewers, if you actually sell your property in 2 hours you can change the status to sold, and then your ad would not show to viewers. Once your ad is placed, we do not provide refunds. Your ad is instantly placed online, and potential prospects are emailed immediately, and for these reasons we do not provide refunds.
If I make a mistake or cancel my ad, how long do I have to wait for a refund?
We do not provide refunds for ad’s. If you make a mistake or would like to change the status of your ad (ie from active to rented), you may do so at any time by logging into the account manager section and making those changes. Once the changes have been made your ad will reflect these changes in seconds.
How long does it take for an update or cancellation?
Updates are performed within seconds when you login to the account manager section to update your ads.
Who do I contact regarding the status of my ad?
The status of your ad can be modified in the account manager section of our website. You may change the status of your ad at any time, but remember if you have rented a sign package from us, once you change the status of a listing for sale to sold, this will create an order for us to pickup the sign from your property. Once you have selected this status your sign will be removed, and this action can not be reversed.
What if I find a misprint or an error on the web site?
If you find a misprint or something incorrect on our website, please use the feedback link on the top of our page to notify us, and we will take immediate corrective action

I have a listing on the ohs site, and my house is sold. How do I return my rented sign/sign post?
Simply login to the Account Manager section of the onlinehomesearch.ca website, go to view or edit listings and change the status of the ad to sold. Once the status is changed to sold, your sign will be automatically scheduled for pick up, and will be removed within 2-3 business days. If the sign is not removed after an extended period of time after changing the status of your listing to sold, please email us at email@example.com with details, and we will promptly contact you regarding this issue.
Why should I create an online account?
If you are viewing ads, it is not necessary to create an account with onlinehomesearch.ca. You may view all the listings on our site for free without creating an account, however if you wish to use some of our advanced features you will need to create an account, for example if you would like to use our free listing alert service to notify you when new properties matching your search criteria hit our site, you will need to create an account.
How do I place multiple ads for cost savings?
We offer tiered discounts to those wanting to place multiple ads. You can pre-purchase credit for your account, the larger the credit you purchase the deeper the discount. Are there provincial taxes charged?
Yes, federal and provincial taxes are charged when applicable based on the province where the ad is being placed.
My property has sold or rented before my ad expired, do i get a refund for the time I do not use?
No, there would not be a refund. Our goal is to attract interested parties as quickly as possible to your property. Tools like the OHS Listing Alert Service will email interested parties within minutes of you posting your ad if your property matches their search criteria.
Payment, Site Security & Privacy
Will my credit card information be secure?
Yes. Credit Card transactions are processed using Moneris. Card numbers are transferred to Moneris (the payment processor) using 128bit encryption. Credit card numbers are NOT STORED for later use by onlinehomesearch.ca (only the last 4 digits are stored for your later reference). This means every transaction you do with us, you will have to enter your credit card number and information again. This may be an inconvenience to you, however it does ensure the maximum security for your credit card information. There is no way our site can be exploited to get this information, as we simply DO NOT RETAIN YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, we only store the last few digits to display on your order receipts.
Can I pay using a method other than credit card?
No, unfortunately, we only accept credit card payments. Because our intention is to keep rates as low as possible, with our high volume of ads, we can not offer any other methods of payment as we needed to streamline the process. If your concerned about the security with using your credit card number with us, note that we use a secure payment server, do not store card numbers in our database, and we use 128 bit encryption to transfer the information to the payment center. Is my transaction information secure?
Yes. As an industry standard our servers are protected by internet firewalls, and usernames and passwords are not viewable within the database (encrypted).

Your credit card will be charged when placing your ad. Once you have created an account, provided all your listing information and selected your sign package if applicable, you will be prompted for payment information. Once you key in this information, it will be processed and will return a reference number for your records within a few seconds, and remember our payment processing is secured with 128 bit encryption, and onlinehomesearch.ca does not store your credit card number in our database.
Will I recieve a receipt for my transaction?
Yes, depending on how your account is configured, you may receive your receipt by email after the transaction, however you may always log into the account manager section of our site, and retrieve any of your past order receipts which you have associated with your account.
What if I lose my receipt and need another copy?
No problem. You can login to the account manager section and view or print any past order receipts at any time you like.
What are the different ways I can pay for my ad?
You may use Visa/Mastercard or previously purchased account credit to pay for your ad. We are not offering any other payment methods (ie check/money order etc) at this time. It is not likely we will adopt these methods as they are cost prohibitive to the organization and we strive to keep out rates as low as we can. We may however offer payment by online interact in the future, if this payment method which is available today, is easily adopted by internet users as a form of payment. Visa and Mastercard are still today the #1 payment types for internet commerce.

What happens if the sign is stolen from my property?
Rental signs with sign posts which are not returned to onlinehomesearch.ca will be billed to your credit card. The charge is $79.00. If the sign is stolen, and you wish to still have a sign on your property, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the details of your situation with a contact phone number, and one of our customer relations personnel will contact you to schedule a delivery of another sign.
I rented a for sale sign from onlinehomesearch.ca, how do I schedule it to be removed now that my property is sold?
Simply change the status of your ad to sold. You can do this by logging into the account manager section of our site. Once you have changed the status to sold, our system will automatically schedule a pickup of the sign. Please do not remove the sign from where it was delivered (ie placing in the backyard or garage), as our delivery people will need to easily see the sign to have it retrieved.
I have ordered a signwith my listing, but have not received the sign yet? How long should it take, and who can i contact regarding this?
Sign deliveries are made Monday to Friday excluding holidays. In most cases, your sign will be delivered within 2 business days. You can check the status of your delivery in the account manager section. If the account manager indicates that a delivery has been made, and you have not received your sign, please either email us at email@example.com or contact our Calgary, Alberta office at 403-291-3845.
I placed an ad with onlinehomesearch.ca but sign delivery is not available in my area. Is there any way to get a sign?
Yes, please contact our office to make special arrangements, either by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 403-291-3845. Currently we are servicing only Calgary and area. Area’s outside of this will be on a case by cases basis.
